Year of milestones for Fieldays Society

Preserving Waikato Heritage

Part of our Society’s focus is preserving our region’s special rural heritage. One way we do that is by providing support to local schools and community groups to tour the Agriculture Heritage Village and National Dairy Museum on-site.

Local People Make it Happen

Last year, over 250 people volunteered to help us run almost 50 events at Mystery Creek Events Centre. And, the vast majority of these volunteers are Waikato people.
Volunteers include members of the greater Waikato community, our Society members and staff who help on their days off.

Future Events Announced

Two new major events developed by Mystery Creek Events Centre were announced this year. Coming to the creek in 2011 and 2012 are Equidays and Retrofest music festival. Both are estimated to bring in tens of thousands of people to the Waikato and will provide a major cash injection into the local economy.

Society Gives Back

Many people don’t realise NZ National Fieldays Society is an incorporated society which gives its profits back to the community. This year we donated $75,000 to the community.

One of the most impressive achievements attained this year was seeing over 100,000 people come through our gates to attend events other than Fieldays. That is just 22,000 people shy of attendance to 2010 Fieldays and demonstrates the growth we’re achieving in the major events market.
