Activities

There are a huge range of activities and attractions available in the Waikato region. Whether you are searching for adventure or want to sit back and relax, you can find it all in Hamilton. While you are in town, make sure you take the time to explore. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you'll find.

Hamilton

Hamilton is the fourth largest city in New Zealand and has the longest river in the country running through it. With fine cuisine, cafes, cultural attractions, theatres, museums and art galleries, Waikato is a popular tourist destination.

Hot air ballooning is prominent in Waikato, although if you are looking for something more exhilarating, try underground rafting at the Waitomo caves. For the movie buffs, a look at Hobbiton is essential, discovering the remains from the blockbuster trilogy, Lord of the Rings.
