Fieldays turned 57 in 2025, and Mystery Creek Events Centre has been home to this iconic New Zealand event for the past 55 years.

Fieldays, held annually over four days at Mystery Creek Events Centre is more than a trade show; it's a dynamic celebration of rural New Zealand—attracting over 110,000 visitors and 1,200 exhibitors, including representatives from 66 international businesses and 23 embassies in 2025 alone.
To deliver an event of this scale and complexity, a venue must offer more than just space. It requires robust infrastructure, accessibility, operational expertise, and the capacity to host multiple activations simultaneously.
Mystery Creek Events Centre is located just two minutes from Hamilton Airport and positioned within the economic Golden Triangle of Auckland, Tauranga, and Hamilton, and was purpose-built for Fieldays. For over 50 years, the venue has evolved alongside the event. Its 114-hectare footprint, mix of indoor and outdoor facilities, and parking areas makes it uniquely equipped to meet Fieldays’ ever-changing needs and provide venue spaces for events throughout the year.
As both organisers of Fieldays and owners of the venue, the New Zealand National Fieldays Society brings unmatched insight into large-scale event delivery. Our experienced in-house team with our collaborators plans and executes every aspect of the Fieldays event—from logistics and health and safety to site operations—ensuring each Fieldays runs to an internationally recognised standard.
With multiple access gates, wide roadways, vast grounds, and reliable infrastructure, the site enables seamless pack-in, live operations, and pack-out. From tiny homes to heavy machinery, large crowds to exhibitor logistics, every detail is considered. The venue’s layout also supports zoned activations, clear crowd flows, and safe transport access.
The site design supports seamless visitor movement between areas. The Pavilion’s ground floor is home to hundreds of agritech and rural lifestyle exhibitors, while the Convention Suites are transformed into a ticketed, exclusive VIP Business Lounge. The Bledisloe building, one of the venue’s flexible indoor spaces, becomes The Pantry each year—a vibrant food showcase celebrating New Zealand producers. It features artisanal goods, tastings, and direct-to-consumer sales, giving local makers valuable exposure in a high-traffic, curated space.
Outdoors, Mystery Creek Events Centre offers space for Fieldays high-impact, crowd-pleasing experiences across several areas:
- Tractor Pull track – a purpose-built area with grassed banks and a grandstand installed each year to accommodate spectators.
- Lawnmower Racing – Introduced in 2025, this attraction utilised a spacious area near a main entry gate, requiring only minimal preparation to build their racing track, thanks to smart site planning and collaboration with the exhibitor.
- The Excavator Competition area is a large blank canvas for operators to demonstrate their technical skill and accuracy, with a grandstand installed each year to accommodate spectators.
- Fencing Competition area – This grassed area provides the ideal space and ground for top fencing competitors to erect fencing, with plenty of room for spectators to watch
- Food Courts – Multiple food courts with ample seating provide relaxed spaces for visitors to take a break.
- The Heritage Village was reimagined as the Fieldays Family Fun Zone in 2025, featuring interactive attractions including the installation of a climbing wall. The National Dairy Museum and the historic blacksmith's forge were in full operation during the event too.
